State of Mind Oxford Suicide Prevention Conference

State of Mind were invited to present at the Thames Valley Suicide Prevention Day Conference at Stoke Mandeville Stadium near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP21 9PP.

Former players Danny Sculthorpe and Jimmy Gittins were joined by Dr.Phil Cooper co-founder of State of Mind on the day.

There was a varied programme discussing the local suicide prevention network (SPIN) and the fantastic work being done to save lives. Leading lights at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust (Dr. Rob Bale and Matt Williams were instrumental with Karen Lascelles, and the new Thames Valley CALMzone was discussed by Matt and the exciting opportunities this opened locally

 Police-led supportive signposting: Review of progress and local thinking about real time suicide surveillance.
 Dads Matter UK: Engaging with fathers with PTSD at birth, depression and anxiety.
 PAPYRUS – Preventing Young Suicide: What we do and how we do it.
